Epi Dreadnaught

Instrumental Musings … EPI Dreadnaught

When I first saw this, I didn’t know what to make of it. It appeared to be an Epiphone in every detail except for the head-stock inscription, which read Epi in the usual Epiphone script. However it looked, it sounded and played great and they were only asking $75.00. I found out that during the period that Norlin were in charge of Epiphone and moved production to Taiwan, they made what was intended to be a down-market line, which they dubbed Epi. The guitars turned out to be far superior to their top-of-the-line product, but few surfaced Stateside. I’ve used this consistently for twenty five years.

Modifications: Piezo pickup.
