  1. I was in a band with Argyle Bell (Lee “Rogers And Stampede Pass) in 1975, in Seattle. We joined up again in 1980/81 to play in Shirley and the Cottonwoods, also in Seattle. We lived next door to each other when we played in Stampede Pass. What a guy Argyle was. After he moved to Nashville, he flew back to Seattle for a visit, somewhere in the early-mid 90’s, to visit old friends. My now-late wife and I went out to dinner with him and our Stampede Pass lead guitarist, Davey “Drygulch” Brown. Then, Argyle went back to Nashville. Years went by, and in 2001, I heard he took his life…. What a waste. I’m 67 now, and still having fun. If only he could gotten through that rough patch.

    I have a small photo of Argyle and the rest of us playing at the King County Fair, near Seattle, in 1975.
